Episode Guide | Til Death Do Us Part
Til Death Do Us Part
First of all, let’s thank the Producers of ‘Baywatch’ for springing their star, Jason Brooks, for a couple of days so that he could come back from the dead and whisper sweet nothings to Miss Parker. While we’re at it, the rookie director (Craig) would like to thank everyone for their patience and hard work in trying to make him look like he knew at all what he was doing. This was great fun, thanks!
Aside from our two-hour finales, one of the rewards of this episode was that it put to bed three very big storylines that we’d started. First, it told us who killed Thomas. Second, it was the end of Brigitte (Pam Gidley), whom we’d established in the season two opener and who gave us some tremendous juice to play. Third, it was the birth of baby Parker. It’s rare that we’ve closed this many doors in any one regular hour episode.
If you’re wondering why Jarod is primarily on the phone in this episode, it harkens back to something we wrote about a few episodes back, that is, pre-production scheduling. We wrote this knowing that Michael T. Weiss would be off in pre-production since he was directing the very next episode after this one. Therefore, we had to craft the script so that our star could be ‘shot out’ in two days. In this case, that wasn’t too bad since we had designed this to feature Miss Parker anyway.
Biased as we are, “Til Death” is rich in answers, features a great performance by Andrea (who shows about every Miss Parker color imaginable), and has a bit of magical romance to it in the spiritual reunion of Miss Parker and Thomas before he disappears from her life forever in the bitter sweet finale.
One of the challenges of scheduling production for an episode is finding your locations (places we film that are not on our sound stages) that are close enough to get to within the allotted location day. Fortunately for us, we were blessed with a versatile parking lot that we often turned into a ‘location’. In this episode, the entrance to the abandoned drive-in movie theatre was actually right outside our back door. Think you can find our parking lot in any other episodes?
