Episode Guide | Jarod’s Honor
Season 1
Jarod’s Honor
Jarod as a hit man had always intrigued us, and writers Tommy Thompson and Chris Ruppenthal, found a fun and unique way to have Jarod be a hired killer and still write an episode that was fun and clever. Their premise; Jarod, while in New Orleans tracking down the private investigator who’d been hired by his family to find him as a child, pretends to be a hit man in order to save the victims with the contracts on their lives. While the victims, a constantly arguing married couple, provided many laughs, the thing that stood out most for us in this episode were the dead hit man in a shower full of ice and the convention in the Twin Cities that Jarod sent Miss Parker and Sydney to – a convention of twins.
While the episode was fun there were some tears involved, as well as, more information surfacing in both Jarod’s storyline and the evolution of the Centre lore. Jarod discovers his parents were desperately trying to find him after his abduction by the Centre, but the near dead detective and his records can’t tell him who they were or where they are. All of this leaving our hero full of anguish and longing. On the Centre side, we find out from a couple of twins who were child subjects at the Centre (that recognize Sydney at the convention — the whole reason Jarod sent him there), that Mr. Raines may have been responsible for Sydney’s twin brother Jacob’s accident that left him in a coma.
