Jarod pretends to be a Marine Patrol officer in Florida in order to expose another officer who has been making money off the exploitation of Haitian refugees.
This is one of the best episodes of the first season not just for the fact we find out Jarod had been an alligator wrestler at Gator Heaven, nor that he’d predicted the movements of a hurricane for part of his take down, or even for the production values which were pretty spectacular. No, the key reason it was one of the best, was because it put Miss Parker and Jarod together for the first extended time on the series.
There had always been a certain irony that Andrea Parker and Michael T. Weiss while co-stars on the same series had, up until this point, shared virtually no screen time. So it was a pretty interesting and wonderful experience to see them working together. The chemistry between the characters was immediate and electric. From the moment Andy and Michael walked onstage multifaceted sparks between these complicated characters started flying. We were thrilled with the way they came off together and knew this was something we’d have to do again in the future.
In addition, this was the first episode where Miss Parker’s father (played by Harve Presnell) appeared, kicking off one of the most dysfunctional relationships in network TV history and, we must confess, one of the most fun relationships to write (who said writers weren’t dysfunctional?)
